New Government Women’s Polytechnic College Srinagar Observes Day-12 under Sewa Pakhwada 2025
Srinagar, September 29, 2025: In a significant initiative to foster holistic development and civic responsibility among its students, the Government Women’s Polytechnic College, Srinagar, today organized a dual-focused program comprising an extensive Digital Literacy session and a comprehensive Cleanliness Drive. The events were conducted under the nationwide banners of Sewa Pakhwada and Safayi Abhiyan 2025.
The day’s activities were inaugurated by the Principal of the college, Er. Imtiaz Ahmad Shaw, who emphasized the critical need for integrating digital proficiency with a sense of community hygiene in the modern educational landscape.
The morning session was dedicated to Digital Literacy, aiming to bridge the digital divide and empower the students with essential 21st-century skills. Expert faculty members conducted interactive workshops covering crucial topics. such as:
- Essential software skills for academic and professional excellence.
- Cybersecurity basics and responsible use of social media.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating in hands-on exercises, equipping them to navigate the digital world with confidence and caution.
Following the digital empowerment session, the entire college community, led by the Principal, faculty, and staff, enthusiastically participated in a Cleanliness Drive under the Safayi Abhiyan 2025. Armed with cleaning equipment, students took to the college campus, meticulously cleaning classrooms, laboratories, the library, common areas, and the surrounding gardens. The drive aimed not just to clean the physical premises but to instill a lasting sense of ownership and pride in maintaining a pristine and eco-friendly learning environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Er.Imtiaz Ahmad Shaw stated, “Today’s twin initiatives are a reflection of our commitment to shaping not just skilled technicians, but responsible and empowered citizens. The Digital Literacy session equips our students to be frontrunners in a digital India, while the Cleanliness Drive reinforces the values of discipline, community service, and environmental consciousness enshrined in the Swachh Bharat mission.
