New Specialized Training for Business Help Desk Members Under Mission Yuva

Srinagar, October 08: In a significant step towards bolstering entrepreneurship and employment opportunities for the youth of the valley, the Department of Skill Development, Kashmir Division, today successfully conducted a comprehensive training programme for the Business Help Desk (BHD) members. The event was held at the Government Women’s Polytechnic College, Srinagar, under the ambitious umbrella of Mission Yuva.

The training session was inaugurated by the Director, Skill Development Department, Kashmir, who emphasized the pivotal role of BHD members in acting as the first point of contact and guidance for aspiring young entrepreneurs across the division. The programme was designed to equip these members with advanced skills in business counselling, understanding government schemes, digital literacy, client management, and effective problem-solving techniques.

Addressing the participants, the Director stated, “Our Mission Yuva is a commitment to the future of our youth. The Business Help Desks are the nerve centres of this mission, designed to handhold our young entrepreneurs from a mere idea to a successful enterprise. Today’s training is not just about skill enhancement; it is about empowering you to become architects of change and economic growth in your respective districts. You are the catalysts who will simplify the journey for thousands of aspiring youngsters.”

The day-long training module featured interactive sessions, case studies, and practical demonstrations conducted by seasoned experts from the industry and the department. The focus was on making the BHD members proficient in guiding youth through the entire entrepreneurial lifecycle, from registration and scheme availing to market linkage and mentorship.

This initiative is a core component of the government’s strategy to combat unemployment by fostering a robust startup ecosystem. By strengthening the capacity of BHD members, the Skill Development Department aims to ensure that expert and efficient guidance reaches the grassroots level, enabling the youth of Kashmir to transform their innovative ideas into viable business ventures.

The department reaffirms its dedication to the objectives of Mission Yuva and will continue to organize such capacity-building programmes to create a skilled and self-reliant youth population in Jammu and Kashmir.
