Two industrial visit for the students of 1st sem of the Department of Garment Technology was conducted on 15-09-2026 and 16-09-2026 at the UNDP, Nowshera, Srinagar
The focus of this visit was a hands-on exploration of fabric scouring and specialized finishing techniques, helping students understand how raw fabrics are cleaned and treated for final production. Key highlights include:
1.​Fabric Scouring Process : Detailed orientation on removing natural impurities, oils, and waxes to prepare the fabric for further treatments.
2.​Mechanical & Chemical Finishing : Firsthand demonstration of processes used to improve fabric texture, feel, and structural stability.
3.​Quality Inspection & Testing : Introduction to standard methods for evaluating fabric cleanliness, strength, and finish quality.
4.​Pressing & Final Inspection : Overview of post-treatment handling, drying, and final quality checks before garment manufacturing.
​This session gave students a clear practical understanding of critical pre-treatment and finishing workflows, building directly upon the foundational production .
